About Us

We are a group of four accountants who came together with a shared aim: to focus our charitable efforts on overseas humanitarian support in the Bharuch district of Gujarat, India.

Our connection to this region is both personal and longstanding.

Bashir has travelled extensively across India, particularly to the Bharuch district, where his parents originated before migrating to the UK during the 1950s and 1960s. These visits have given him first-hand insight into the challenges faced by local communities.

Alfie was introduced to the region through his father, Mark Grattan, who travelled widely across India and formed close friendships in Bharuch. Through these experiences, Alfie gained a deep understanding of the poverty faced by many families, alongside the remarkable kindness and resilience shown by the local people. Over the years, this connection strengthened his commitment to supporting the area.

Sharing the same values and motivations, Bashir and Alfie were joined by Azeem and Anthony, leading to the formation of the charity.

Collectively, the four trustees have over 26 years of professional experience working together as accountants. During this time, we have prepared year-end charity accounts for a wide range of organisations. This has allowed us to develop a strong understanding of charitable governance, trustee responsibilities, corporate accountability, and UK-standard verification processes used to identify and support genuine charitable causes.

All trustees have also been actively involved in charitable work in the past, including the ongoing provision of pro bono accountancy services to registered UK charities. In addition, one trustee previously completed a charity cycle ride from Liverpool to Blackburn, raising over £3,200 for an orphanage in the Far East.

Places We Impact

Our charitable focus is the Bharuch district in the state of Gujarat, India, with particular attention to the towns of Nabipur and Dayadra, as well as surrounding villages and rural communities.

Two of our trustees, Bashir and Alfie, have strong personal and community links to these areas, which helps ensure that our work is grounded in genuine local knowledge, trust, and understanding.
